The Future is Here: AI enabled schools
A private Texas based school (Alpha Schools) has transformed the way it teaches:
Students study an individual AI created lesson plan for 2 hours each day, using the pomodoro method (25 minutes on, 5 minutes off).
The rest of the day is spent acquiring life skills, social exercises and projects.
Teachers do not teach, but act as coaches, guiding students.
Students advance grades in 80 days on average.
Standardized test scores are in the 90th percentiles.
No homework for students and no lesson plans for educators.
SO WHAT: This is a window into the future of capability building, and the importance of socialisation and group work. The learning is individually curated, not one-size-fits-no-one. You get the learning you need in the style you need. The role of the 'coach' is to guide towards self-sufficiency, and emotional support, not teaching.
