Moment of Choice Canvas

The Moment of Choice is the moment that makes the difference. It is the point that your value is realised. Know this, and focus on it.

If, for example, you are changing the way your pricing is structured.

It is not the creation of a pricing centre of excellence, or the insights into price elasticity. It is the moment your salesperson chooses to negotiates differently with a customer, using the new pricing structures.

Always start by identifying your ‘Moment of Choice’, then work outwards to look at the influences that effect it. What risks and opportunities do you have?

How to use the Moment of Choice Canvas

Start in the middle, with who the target is, what good and bad look like.

Then work clockwise from the Context, through Sentiment, to Influence and finally the Action Plan.

As you complete each section ask yourself two questions:

  1. So What: What does this mean for the change?

  2. And What: What am I going to do about it?
